About Connor McMahon

Connor McMahon graduated from Fraser High School in 2017. After high school, he worked hard to fund his education, eventually graduating from The University of Michigan. In 2022, Connor fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, returning to Fraser High School to teach. In his one year of teaching, Connor made a profound impact on his students, using his unique teaching style to inspire and encourage them.

Connor was known for his immense school spirit, and if you were his student, you were guaranteed to hear his “dad jokes” and puns. He was passionate about his interests, including Marvel, Star Wars, and, of course, the University of Michigan. His teaching philosophy was simple but powerful—“Never give up. Persevere no matter the odds.” Connor lived by this advice, and it became a guiding principle for his students.

He kept a small post-it note above his desk that read: “It’s for the kids.” As Connor once said, “We have the ability, the position, and the responsibility to help them with far more in real life than anything we can ever teach in front of a classroom—that’s what gets me out of bed in the morning, knowing that I am making a difference.”

Connor’s Legacy

Outside of Fraser High School, Connor was known for his kindness and generosity. He spent his summers working as a counselor at the Roseville/Eastpointe Summer Day Camp, helping to nurture the next generation of leaders. He loved his family, friends, and God with all his heart, always striving to make the world a better place.

Tragically, Connor’s life was taken on June 13, 2023, when he was struck by an impaired driver while changing his tire on I-94.
